Teriyaki Style Grilled Wings

Marilyn’s original recipe for Teriyaki Style wings

Made with Mirin and low sodium soy sauce, these teriyaki style wings rock!

Method 1 - simple glaze

  1. Heat all ingredients in saucepan until reduced by about 1/4. You’re making a thick glaze here.
  2. Season wings with salt and pepper, grill until almost done.
  3. Begin brushing glaze onto wings during last few minutes of grilling, turning and brushing until coated and glaze begins to caramelize. Be careful not to burn them - there’s a lot of sugar here.

Method 2 - marinade then glaze

  1. Double the glaze recipe amounts above
  2. Heat all ingredients in saucepan - simmer about 10 minutes
  3. Remove 1 cup and allow to cool for marinade
  4. Continue to simmer until remaining sauce reduces by 1/4 for glaze.
  5. Meanwhile, pour cooled sauce into baggie or bowl, and toss wings to coat.
  6. Marinate wings for at least 1 hour
  7. Follow Steps 2 and 3 above to grill and finish wings
